BenQ Network & Wireless Cards
BenQ Corporation is the Taiwan company that produces computer hardware since 2001, when Acer reported that it converts its internal Acer Communications & Multimedia subdivision into an independent company. The company was called “BenQ”. The name reveals the company’s goals and priorities – the abbreviation stands for “bringing enjoyment and quality to life”. However, in 2007 the name was changed into Qisda that is the shortening of “quality innovation speed driving and achievements”. BenQ is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. Its production capacities are situated in Malaysia, Mexico, China and Taiwan.
Acer’s authorities explained the decision of transforming one of their subdivisions into the separate company – BenQ – so that for partners and clients it is more convenient to collaborate with different companies, which don’t depend on one another.
In fact, the company’s activity was divided into OEM/ODM business (manufacturing of computer components and final products for foreign trade marks) and brand business (vending of production under BenQ trade mark).
BenQ releases cell phones, Joybook notebooks, monitors and so on; Qisda is engaged in producing multifunction peripheral devices and LCD monitors.
BenQ’s main working area is display technologies: it makes projectors and monitors. This corporation was the first that made LCD monitor with response time of 2 msec in 2004.
The second major field of BenQ’s activity is printers, scanners, digital cameras, disc drives and other optical and peripheral devices manufacture.
The third one refers to communication equipment (networking hardware and mobile phones).
